As a multidisciplinary design practice Charlotte Anne Declercq yields inspiration from cultural anthropologies & ethnologies as well as layering depths of material strategies. Through these interests she aims for end results with refined sensitive and historic qualities.
Her design language is one of stratification: to have narrative and formal subject matter operate simultaneously, achieving heartfelt optical, sensible and overal qualities trough overlapping, which then leave records of how the designed elements came into being.
As an interiorarchitect and furnituredesigner she has a synergetic ethos to her practice:
Entering in dialogues with architects, artisans and craftspeople to collaborate & build upon each others virtuosity: for her creativity exists in the collective.
Also collaborating with past, present, and future: merging elements and designlanguages from different cultures and continents to see their interactions, constrasts and symbioses.
Investigating mutual relationships between the environment we live in and ourselves; nothing exists isolated, rather all exist together, mutually influencing each other. Holding the belief this is true for everything; colors, matter, experiences, people.
Together these elements invoke new meaning, inspirations and spirit, be it locally, national or international.
